The Eilis project
This is my cousin. well kinda, I changed her a little:
Now I’m going to show you step by step what I did:
1. the original
2. cut her out of the backdrop
3. now, create a number of vectors over the variations in depth of the photo. I did this so that later I could create a 3d backdrop. I also created a shadow based on the original (which was lost in the cut out process)
4. carefully overlayed the vectors with stone texture to create a rocky seat
5. after much deliberation, found this picture which gave a nice ethereal feel. It was at this point I decided decided to go with the helmet and flames
6. Drew in the grass using stock Photoshop grass brushes also put some black and white layers over the stone, and grass to get the lighting similar to the photo
7. Added the helmet, manipulated it, cut out bits, played with the lighting and manipulated it again till it was right, did the eyes with a motion blur. The head markings are bits of a feather overlayed
Finally added flames from various google result flame pics. Also added a beard to the snake (family joke)
for variety I got rid of all the effects and put the girl on a chrome backdrop
